"Weirton - A Pageant of Nations," is the
latest book written by Dennis R. Jones.
The book is compiled from old festival programs, Weirton Steel Employee
Bulletins, the Weirton Daily Times from that time period. The booklet contains
several pictures of the participating groups, including the names of the
participants. Old time local advertisements are scattered throughout each
of the chapters. The introduction to the book provides history information
about Weirton from its beginning and each chapter has interesting events that
happened during each year of the festival. During the final few years of the
festival, it is explained how the festivals took on a theme of "Production for the
War" and explains Weirton's Part in the winning effort. This booklet is a must
for those who have roots in the huge melting pot of over 40 nations, named
Weirton, West Virginia.
